On 7 June, 2023, Nitrocapt was granted €2,1 M (24 MSEK) in the LIFE Climate action sub-programme (L’Instrument Financier pour l’Environnement) by the European Commission. The project is a collaboration with three major European farmer’s cooperative organizations Lantmännen, Felleskjøpet Agri, and DE VERBAND S.C.
The purpose of the project is:
"Scaling up and demonstrating NitroCapt’s paradigm-shifting, climate-neutral production process and to give the European industry access to efficient, innovative green technology offering the most competitive nitrogen fertilizers in large volumes", as mentioned in NitroCapt´s application for the grant.
The LIFE Programme is the EU’s funding instrument for the environment and climate action. The general objective of LIFE is to contribute to the implementation, updating and development of EU environmental and climate policy and legislation by co-financing projects with European added value. The European Commission (DG Environment and DG Climate Action) manages the LIFE program.
